UPU changed name to Uganda People’s Congress

The Uganda People’s Congress was formed by the merging of the Uganda National Congress and the Ugandan People’s Union led by Milton Obote.

Obote would go on to develop into the foremost statesman in Uganda proving himself to be a unifying figure leading up to Ugandan independence.
