“The Red Box…depicts the double victimization of Pakistani women in Britain through racism and exploitation as cheap manual laborers, often by wealthy Pakistanis. The damage caused by this double transgression is paralleled by that of their double migration: first from India to Pakistan at the partition of the subcontinent and then from Pakistan to Britain due to economic necessities.”
