Introduction of ‘curry’ to Britain

The first documented establishment to offer curry was the Norris Street Coffee House, Haymarket, London in the  1730s.

In 1810, the first Indian restaurant was opened by Sake Dean Mahomed as detailed on a City of Westminster commemorative plaque:
